With the passage of history and the development of the city, transportation plays an increasingly important role on Xidan North Street. Pedestrians are gradually moving away from the street (closed, inward, non-pedestrian friendly, huge, heavy, outdated, and old). The current road status can only be crossed by pedestrian bridges. However, pedestrians still tend to walk on the ground. Replacing overpasses with ground-level sidewalks will facilitate the interaction of people on both sides of the street and create a more dynamic business environment.

In the project, we weaved the architectural space into a complete and continuous piece. There is a flow line for people in the north-south and east-west directions, separated but not separated, so that each courtyard space can be self-contained and used independently, or connected together to hold large-scale activities, suitable for both movement and quiet.

The soft and stretched new facade and the serious individual ancient building, large space, and small space, the characteristics based on contrast make the project full of vitality
