The plan is inspired by the stone of many apertures, which is solid on the outside and empty on the inside. Above the water, the Cao'e River Cultural Center looks like a rock that has been eroded by the river for a long time. It rises from the ground and stands on the river bank. Its masculine atmosphere contrasts with the soft and beautiful scenery of the river and the landscape along the river and complements each other.

The project is located in a scenic area with a natural elevation of about 6.0 meters and an elevation of about 11.0 meters. There is no river view from the site. A huge viewing platform is suspended 8 meters above the ground and 3.5 meters above the embankment, overlooking the river. A large theater, a multi-functional small theater, an art education center, a digital art museum, an intangible cultural heritage center, and an art gallery are arranged on the platform. The conference center is arranged on the west side of the main entrance combined with the landscape. The gentle slopes around the platform lead to the 11M embankment along the river, the entrance square, and the hotel.

Transportation analysis: Public transportation and private cars are the main means of arrival. There is a planned subway station, Daxue Road Station, two blocks away on the south side. The west side of the site is the main entrance and exit for vehicles, and a large parking lot is set up. The secondary entrance is located under the bridge across the Hangzhou-Ningbo Canal on Jiangxi Road on the south side.

Functional circulation: The circulation organization of the large theater and multi-functional hall follows the principles of diverting the public and actors, and diverting freight and parking. The public mainly arrives on foot and directly enters the platform level, which leads to the foyer of various functions. There is a public elevator in the center of the platform, which can lead directly from the ground floor and platform level to the fifth-floor public hall, catering, retail, and rooftop gardens. It can be independently opened as a public space during non-performance hours, providing citizens and tourists with a variety of cultural and leisure venues. VIP areas are located on both sides of the grand theater and multi-purpose hall and can be entered from the platform level. There is a VIP area in the underground garage, and the VIP hall can be reached directly through the elevator. The plan includes a 1,400-seat large theater and a 500-seat multi-functional small theater. Above the multi-functional hall is an art education center, which is on the same floor as the rehearsal hall of the large theater. It can be considered to be opened as a rehearsal hall based on operational needs, providing more space for future use. Many possibilities. The large theater has an independent logistics platform that is directly connected to the stage level. The back channel of the multi-functional small theater is connected to the back channel of the large theater. The unloading platform is connected to the musical instrument storage space on the ground floor, the five-story scenery workshop, and the rehearsal area. There is a cast entrance on the south side of the venue to enter the backstage area on each floor. The 1st to 3rd floors are shared makeup and rest spaces for actors and bands. The 4th to 5th floors are mainly administrative management, resting, dining, and actor rehearsal areas, and can lead to art education. center.

Public space: The public space is divided into three spaces: upper, middle, and lower according to the platform. People stroll up the ramp and gradually approach the sculptural cave-like platform space. As the line of sight continues to rise, the distant sky and river scenery gradually appear at the entrance of the cave. This is a spatial experience with different scenery as you move. Guide people to discover and explore. At the same time, there are also lights coming down from different places above through the gaps along the cliff, mysteriously changing, contrasting with the bright light environment outside, making people calm and settled. This method of contrasting light intensity between distant and near shots makes the space extremely tense and dramatic, and its sense of mystery calls on citizens to go on an artistic adventure.
