City Planning
"The heart finds tranquility in my homeland" - A dynamic and vibrant compound city with a strong sense of belonging.
Strategy One: Return to Nature
Centered around the central park, extending the Silk Road corridor and Ma Wan Mountains to form community features. The second-floor platform, with a height of 7 meters, serves as the main elevated level for residents' daily activities. The central park, elevated 4.5 meters from the ground, allows pedestrians and commercial flows to repeatedly enjoy the serene nature of the park. The east and west sides of the central park have building heights of 24 meters and 20 meters, creating a rhythmic, continuous park interface. Public service facilities such as leisure, entertainment, and fitness seamlessly transition with the natural surroundings of the park. The park spans urban roads, creating a continuous and complete walking experience. The grand central park, combined with intimate courtyard spaces within the blocks, forms a richly scaled green sensory space, allowing residents to experience the beauty of nature throughout the seasons.
Strategy Two: Boundless Connections
Separation of pedestrians and vehicles realizes a safe and efficient "super link" at different heights. An elevated pedestrian system runs through the entire community, connecting public and commercial facilities in various blocks, providing residents with a safe, convenient, and enjoyable environment for walking and a slow-paced lifestyle. Multi-functional blocks encourage people to choose slow travel, increasing social interactions. Along the Silk Road corridor, create a leisure and commercial pedestrian street connecting the north and south, seamlessly integrating with the landscape green corridor. The pedestrian street traverses from south to north, connecting commercial, office, residential, cultural, and entertainment facilities.
Strategy Three: Elastic Inclusivity
The boundaries of future functional spaces, time allocation, age characteristics, professions, and social classes tend to blur and merge. Variability, complexity, randomness, and inclusivity will be the characteristics of urban spaces. Mixed blocks integrate residential, dining, retail, fitness, shared offices, conferences, culture, and other functions, promoting communication and innovation. The community-level commercial service center relies on the subway station, and each block is within a 15-minute walking distance. The next-level neighborhood centers are distributed in each block, reachable within 5 minutes. A complete service system provides convenience for residents' health, elderly care, education, culture, and sports activities. The plan centers around the subway station, following the TOD principle, sequentially divided into the creative business mixed zone, the culturally vibrant living area, and the international compound living area.
Strategy Four: City of Sensibility
Provide a multi-level understanding of the city. High-density open blocks adopt a mix-and-match approach, making the spatial scale pleasant and more interesting. Different mixed-use blocks bring a more flexible and agile urban growth pattern, creating a 24-hour compound and vibrant city. The layout of two types of blocks, "Castle" and "Village," meets the tropical region's need for shade and coolness, providing rich and pleasant spaces. Green courtyards are everywhere to explore, creating a lively community that attracts people to step out of their homes. Along the city's main roads and waterways, respond to the broad urban space with higher building volumes, forming a clear urban interface. The continuous and lively street interface is the foundation of urban vitality. The staggered and transparent waterfront interface forms a rich city skyline. Along the water corridor, create a waterfront fisherman's wharf, and waterside platforms provide an excellent dining environment. Urban landmarks are arranged at key visual nodes in the city, providing clear guidance and an intuitive sense of distance scale.
