City Planning

The "hutong" grown by the six-ring dynamic axis and the green corridor extending from the canal ecological corridor are intertwined and complementary, forming a regular and easy-to-recognize urban central area with exquisite, colorful and comfortable connotations. The intersection of Beijing East Railway Station, the Sixth Ring Development Axis and the Canal Ecological Corridor makes this area the driving force, vitality and core area for the development of the entire Tongzhou sub-center.

In the central city, we advocate a humanized urban texture with small blocks and dense road networks. Small blocks with a side length of 120-150 meters are evenly distributed, combined with excellent public spaces and public transportation systems, to provide a convenient walking environment, encourage citizens to choose walking and public transportation, reduce dependence on private cars, and create a people-oriented urban space. Urban centers should pay attention to the connectivity and accessibility of road networks. The dense road network ensures the smooth flow of capillaries in the urban network and provides more mobility for traffic flow. By changing the height of the building, sunlight can enter the center of the plot. At the same time, the building outlines on both sides of the road are also colorful, and the road gets more light, so it can become narrower and more suitable for human scale.

In order to utilize land resources efficiently, we advocate a sparse and dense pattern, retaining rich ecological space for the city and forming clear urban boundaries. At the intersection of the three axes, we created a 7.5-square-kilometer central forest park. Green belts perpendicular to the canal connect the central gardens of the blocks on both sides. There is a block green space within a radius of every 500m, and sparse spaces of different scales. Dense spaces and green spaces form a coherent ecosystem

Design highly recognizable spaces and distinctive landscapes in the city to create poetic places in the city and enhance people's understanding of the city. Through the design of diverse public spaces, we hope to create a unique and emotional city.
